Where to Install New Software
This article applies to: Managed Servers
Systems Support currently uses the C: drive for our applications and logging. Separating customer applications from the operating system, allows alerts to be generated specifically for customer data, and it allows the OS to be monitored and maintained separately.
If the C: drive were to fill, it could crash the machine, causing serious problems in troubleshooting. Systems Support uses the empty space on C: to install newer applications required for the support of the machine (management agents, antivirus, OS patches, etc). Keeping the C: drive separate from the customer applications assures that we have enough space support the machine.
